Melanie Sheehan, PhD Candidate, UNC-Chapel Hill

Melanie Sheehan is a PhD candidate at UNC-Chapel Hill. Her dissertation examines how US industrial union leaders engaged in political lobbying and worked through international trade union federations to advance their interests related to international trade, capital movements, and global labor standards from the 1940s through the 1980s.

For the Carolina Labor Seminar, she will present her research on US organized labor and international economic policy in the 1970s. This event will be held virtually via Zoom.
